open the cage

So the day has come, when for some, the UK should have flown the nest (or cage). It hasn't.
I for one am glad (political comment - sorry)
I am more concerned about how we treat our marginalised fellow citizens here than what "they" over there, have done to "us" over here.
Many people here in this place I call home, remain in cages, afraid to be free or feel free because of prejudice, discrimination or hate.
We cannot allow this to happen and need to be people who try and open the doors of cages for those who feel imprisoned.
