Walk in the sun - 1200m up Ben Nevis

After a later start than planned due locking my keys in the car when I arrived last night I thoroughly enjoyed a steady walk up to the summit of Ben Nevis. The fine weather had brought out the wanna be mountaineers. Several groups of under equipped, under dressed and inexperienced people were spotted on the "tourist track'

The beauty of "The Ben" is its easy accessibility, but this is also its draw back. the weather and conditions can be changeable even in the summer. Even today the summit temperature was minus 8C in the sun! this quickly dropped when the wind picked up and the cloud came down.... not some where to be with out a map and compass and the knowledge of how to get down safely...
