P is for ..... Plough and horse
I am really stressed again today. We have asked social services to find a care home for Dad because every time we visit he appears to be immobile needing two strong nurses to haul him up to a stand, then turn him and sit him in a wheelchair, he appears to do nothing to help himself. A social worker went to visit him on Friday and speak to all who care for him to make an assessment. She spoke to my brother today and said that he can walk 25m with grab rails, we were stunned. I managed to contact the physiotherapist who confirmed this and said he had been able to do it for a while. Mum thinks they are making it up to force her to have him home and she is terrified that she will not be able to cope and have no life at all trying to care for him. I don't know what to do or think. There has been a meeting arranged for Wed morning for all concerned to try to sort it all out. I cannot imagine why Dad would just sit and do nothing if he is able to get about a little bit, it just seems so bizarre, but the physio was very credible when I spoke to her. It is all a very stressful mystery.
