That time of year again.

The Women's Institute West Lothian Federation Show.

The past month has been a knitting and crafting fest for Mrs FP, the dining table is covered in threads and fabrics. The recent days have seen baking, curd making and all manner of things in jars. The oven cooled down today for the first time in a week. The stuff in the tray is an experimental tablet, so sweet just being in the same room with it sends diabetics into comas. I don't like anything sweet but I'll keep the recipe - if the bathroom ever needs re-grouting this stuff is the bollocks.

So a 'Very Highly Commended' in the photography (guess who was consultant on that project), another VHC in the Fruit Curd section. A 'First' in the hotly contested Knitted Hat. A mere commended in the Tray Bake, a 'Highly Commended' mandarin yogurt loaf, and a lowly third for the bathroom grout tablet, and Mrs FP collected a stonking 19/20 for muffins. Marmalade and open sandwiches also scored well (two separate sections, not one of Paddington Bear's butties). All that and a photo in next weeks local paper. Hopefully normal existence will return.

I assisted in all this activity by drinking wine and watching television in another room - (I was in another room with the television, not keeking at it through a doorway, just to make things clear)
