Sewing machine lessons

My WI has subsidised some sewing machine lessons for our members. Today was my lesson and I have to say I was quite anxious.

I can't believe I actually managed to make a flat bottomed draw string bag today!

The lessons were run by a local ReUse group and the aim was to show us not only how to use a sewing machine, but also to learn that we can reuse pieces of material from clothing we no longer want.

The woman who runs ReUse is nothing short of inspirational. I came away not only with a cute draw string bag but also a confidence which was quite unexpected!

This afternoon I drove to see my eldest in a concert. It was lovely to see him and he did really well.
