I have a memory of my grandmother telling me she had a relative who was a professional footballer and the team I recall her mentioning is Bournemouth. Did some research yesterday and identified a John (Jack) Surtees who I think may be my man, Surtees being my great grandmother's maiden name. Even found a Pathe news clip that features him as a player for Sheffield Wednesday. All I need to do now is make the link which is not proving easy.
