CAPTAIN BEAKY

At last I got some photos of Beaky, who turned up in a sorry state last Sunday. He is now eating quite well, using his tongue to flick food up into his mouth, so we are making sure there is soft food for him. He is still eating the coffee cake and has progressed onto suet nibbles. He is drinking and has had the odd dip in the bird bath. The other two resident male Blackbirds are not very friendly towards him but I've given them a good talking to. Don't mess with me!

We are hoping he will keep feeding and stay strong and that his beak will grow back. I wonder if it would be easier for him if the broken lower beak fell off but it seems firmly stuck to his feathers. Fingers crossed for Captain Beaky.
