Why I Otter....

All of my plans for today went out of the window when I saw three otters as I was out for a walk. The first one I saw was actually running along the road ahead of me (I initially thought it was a dog!) but quickly headed across the beach and into the safety of the water. I spent most of the afternoon observing them fishing and playing... the time flew by. They even dealt with the rather territorial swan that you see in the background, teasing it into following them, first one way, then another... always just out of reach of the ever more furious swans beak! Eventually it had to concede defeat and sloped off, leaving this otter to enjoy a fishy dinner.
