Hot springs blipmeet in the Land of Hrund

We left Reykjavik this morning and drove towards the Hotel Rangá in Hella, Iceland. The snowy scenery on the way was other worldly, but the highlight of the journey was a stop to visit my blip friend, Hrund. This time, the third time we have met, was with her whole family. In 2012, I met Hrund and her husband when they were in Boston. In 2017 we met by chance in the airport in Iceland when she was headed to Scotland and we had just landed in Iceland. Today was wonderful, she served delicious Icelandic delights as we all sat around the table laughing and enjoying easy conversation together. It was wonderful to meet her children and enjoy the warmth of their home. Then, the icing on the cake, was a trip in her 4x4 to the hot springs(extras) that dot the scenery and mountains surrounding their home(even one hot spring in their back garden). She doesn't post as often on blip anymore, but we still connect on instagram. It was just a fabulous blip meet, this community has enriched my/our lives in so many ways. I feel so lucky to have found this special corner of the internet. I am very, very grateful. 

We have reached the Hotel Rangá, our hotel for the next four nights, with Tuesday( my actual birthday), looking possible weather wise for a Northern Lights viewing. We love it here and have just relaxed in the hot tub outside our room during a snow shower. It has been an amazing day!
