Gingerbread Mayhem

My great niece and nephew in a rare moment of quiet concentration. They were disappointed that I wasn’t there at Christmas to make gingerbread with them so we made it today. It took about 3 hours to divide each task by 2, settle the spats, stop them eating too much brown sugar/Golden Syrup/butter/Smarties, pick them off the floor after falling/sliding off the stools, drying tears and laughing. Surprisingly, they didn’t eat as much dough as usual and I managed to get rid of the scraps without protest. What fun we had and the gingerbread was edible!
I escaped to the quiet of my sister-in-law‘s place in the country for a Gin and Tonic in the afternoon.
