An old friend.
Chesterton Mill near Leamington Spa. Stopped for a few minutes on the way to a meeting in Warwick just after lunch.
I know I've blipped it several times, but each time it's different. Different crops, different time of year, different skies, different time of day. Nice to see it once again.
Press L for lots of sky!
It seemed to be a risky day to get to work this morning. After many mornings recently when it's been very foggy, icy or wet, today seemed just a half pleasant morning. Not cold. Not wet. Not windy. Just a nice morning to be out. But, it seems disaster was lurking at every bend in the road.
One road was closed and I could see the ultra violet flashing of lots blue lights on a whole raft of fire rescue vehicles, ambulances and police cars just a short way up the road. Just a few seconds later an ambulance came speeding past me. Just a couple of miles down the A5, a car was perched precariously on a post in the central reservation partly sticking out into the carriageway I was travelling down. A minute later, the first responding police car sped the opposite direction towards the accident. I suspect that the road was soon to be closed too.
Then, the sat nav was indicating major problems on the M1 in front of me - lots of slow or stationary traffic. Thankfully I wasn't heading on there.
Why so many accidents just a few days before christmas? Why was everyone in such a mad dash to meet oblivion?
The rest of the day was like a series of road accidents too. Every attempt to get something done, every conference call, every small job - all met with some minor disaster. But, on reflection, no-one was hurt. Nobody died. Nothing damaged. A great day to get home again!
Be safe.
