Ring-necked duck

This particular duck has been playing hide and seek with me for several months. It either hides in reeds or goes to another lake when I go near Coot Loch on Benbecula.
For some reason, today it decided to come out to play. An American version of our Tufted Duck, the males are always quite smart.
The birds are certainly busy at present with summer migrants arriving,  winter migrants leaving and breeding birds displaying and singing.
I imagine this duck will be on its way north before too long unless it has given up hope or returning across the Atlantic....
