Monday: Open Bottle Here
It was a relatively busy day but not one that lent itself to photos. This was partly due to having a colleague visiting from Ottawa so I was occupied with her much of the day.
I shan't tell you about missing a very obvious April Fool's joke in the papers and passing it on to colleagues, thinking it was fact........
In the absence of a photo, I looked around the garden when I got home. This contraption comes in handy from time to time.

When Henning Mankell, author of the 'Wallander' novels, found out he had cancer he wrote 'Quicksand: What It Means To Be A Human Being'. It's not a philosophical treatise on the qualities of being human, but rather a series of recollections - vignettes of events that made him the human he felt he became. It was a good read. I'm very taken with that thought - that we become the sum of our experiences and there are many things, small and large, that make us the individuals we are.
