An early start.
We were up at 4.50am this morning to get son David to the airport in time for his flight back to his family in Christchurch (after his day at work), then their preparation for a 3 week holiday in Sri Lanka.
Since it was too early for my breakfast I thought I might just as well be baking etc so I made a batch of shortbread, this Afghan Slice and then put through 3 loads of washing and remade the bed in the guest room before thoughts turned to muesli and stewed apple.
After breakfast I was downstairs to the stitching cave and spent the rest of the morning working on a bag whose front I embroidered some time ago. Frustratingly, it has a very poorly explained pattern , so I just grit my teeth and persevered till noon , by which time I had it all cut out, front batted , lined and quilted before giving up for the day. I think my concentration cells have done their bit for today.
An Alison Holst Creamy Spinach Chicken Curry for dinner will be the easy bit at the end of the day.
