Still Life

We put the pears up on the windowsill to ripen. I love seeing all this color; it even shines in the rain.

Session Three today of Textures in Nature drawing class. We're learning materials that are new to me, like scratchboard, and some techniques with blending color pencils that I haven't seen before. The whole thing is very challenging, and I'm not sure I'll ever use these ideas, but I guess all this information stacks up and informs the next go round in some way. Right now it feels like just too much detail for me, too much carefulness.
