Cruck Barn

A follow-up walk with a different Ann (R) this morning as a preliminary for the Thurgoland Boundary Walk.  We were trying to find out who the farmer was who had sheep in an adjacent field when we entered this small complex of houses where we saw this Cruck Barn.  We didn’t find anyone to ask on that site but by chance we met someone on a different part of our walk who knew the owner of the sheep, so problem solved.  That’s the thing about the countryside, you can usually find someone (over a hedge or not) who knows someone else, who knows!  There are a lot of old barns in this area - most of which give the appearance of being part of a wealthy farming community.
