Driving Instructions!

Slight movement on the work front. Two men came at lunchtime to assess the kitchen. They will return tomorrow to lift the floorboards (not all of them) and remove the asbestos. They made reassuring noises about this not being a big job......

Then our lovely occupational therapist came. She had a cancellation and had been able to procure a bath seat for Mum. It is installed in my bath and it has a battery controlled compressor to lower and raise her into and out of the water. We can't wait to try it.

Mum proved that she was competent (having driven automobiles until she was 92) and so we are allowed to keep the seat.

We can't tell you what brilliant service we have had from OTs and the equipment loan suppliers for Northumberland. They make such a difference to people's lives. We first met this OT several years ago when Mum had painful thumbs. While we waited she fashioned some neoprene supports - a perfect fit because they were made to measure.

It was too late for me to go to choir. The other Marjorie came to see Mum and I had walk. YES a walk. Only 1.5 miles but I was out on the quiet roads and then across the fields. 

Tonight I'm meeting Liz, Nick, Dori and possibly Graham for a meal at our local pub. Mum is eating her meal as I write.

This morning we had hailstones and heavy rain. It's much nicer now.
