Devonport

...is our home for the night. It’s on the River Mersey in the north of Tasmania where the Spirit of Tasmania car ferry leaves from next Monday. It rained all morning while we travelled from Golden Valley so no blips were taken. After stocking up on gas and groceries we drove out to the lighthouse and lookout. Here are some rocks with lichen and more rocks with waves. It looks a bit dismal out on the ocean today.

Tomorrow we are going to Stanley and staying in a proper house for the night. That will save towing the van for just one night away. We will leave it here in Devonport.

Devonport is the third largest town in Tasmania with a population of 23,000. We even came to some traffic lights today and saw a taxi. A real metropolis.
