Photography field trip...
I went out with the NM outdoor photography group from meetup.com today. We went to El Malpais National Conservation Area. There is a National Monument with a similar name and I thought that was where we were headed. The National Monument features lots of volcanoes and lava flows (my very favoritest types of landscapes) and was somewhat disappointed to find that wasn't where we were headed, until we got there where of course it turned out to be about as nice as you can get without volcanoes.
El Malpais means badlands in Spanish. We went to the Ventana Natural Arch and the Sandstone Bluffs overlook. Both were interesting places to photograph.
Today's photo is part of the group perched on the cliff edge waiting for the sunset. It was taken as a a purposeful underexposure in IR and then toned.
Today, I am grateful for the day I was given, the New Mexico Sky, light unseen (infrared), NS the return of Scott the cat and the hawk that has been chasing him.
