Compton Verney
We met Maureen and Ian at Charlecote and went to Compton Verney this afternoon. Although we'd been there only a week ago they hadn't seen the new exhibition yet and we fancied another look, plus a drink in the cafe of course.
After a bit we left them to it and took a wander outside. I hadn't been in the chapel for a while and wanted to see the stain glass windows. The chapel was moved by Capability Brown during the landscaping of the grounds in the 1700s, it is one of the few buildings designed by him. Over the years it has suffered from neglect and has recently had a complete restoration funded by Heritage Lottery Fund.
