Little Egret

Seeing a few of these around at the moment, in fact my first blip was one.

I had thought My family have "suggested" that I do the 12 Days of Christmas starting from Christmas Day. Obviously finding a Partridge would be difficult but they have not accepted that argument and say I could do an "interpretation". I have not decided if I will rise to the challenge - but I wonder if he will still be here in a few days time. A Little Egret in a plain tree would work for the first day.

If you go large he/she seems to be squishing something in his/her beak.

The Little Egret is a small white heron that feeds on small fish and crustaceans. Once a very rare visitor from the Mediterranean they are now a common sight around the coasts of southern England and Wales as they expand their range, possibly due to climate change. It first bred in the UK on Brownsea Island, Dorset, in 1996, and has been moving northwards ever since
