A Friday neep ...

A day of this and that.
An afternoon spent mucking out and bedding cattle with various other jobs in between. The weather a bit kinder than yesterday which was a bonus.
The AGA saga still rumbles on. I replaced the wicks at lunch time and re lit it but still refusing to burn properly. Think it’s not getting enough kero through. Have cleaned the tank filter and bled it through so after a bit of nagging eventually gave up and phoned the usual AGA folk to come out on Monday. Bugger , more expense.
We used to grow about 40 acres of swedes for the sheep, but it is an expensive crop to grow and the weed and pest control chemicals are all being withdrawn so it’s now more economical to buy a couple of artic loads just for lambing time even at £43/ ton. Mind you I noticed they were 49 p each in Tesco the other day which works out at about £500/ ton so still cheaper by the lorry load .
