The day dawned rather dull and gradually the rain moved in. We took a trip to Queensferry, on the River Forth. Such a lovely old place, of another era. It was quite misty, and we couldn't see the Queensferry Crossing from the promenade at all. My extra photo is of the Forth Bridge, from the 19th century. The Road bridge is 20th century and the Queensferry Crossing is 21st century.
We had a snack, and then the HG went for a long walk along the river while I had a shorter walk and then read the newspaper. It was very pleasant to be there with such a lovely view, very atmospheric with the weather too.
When the HG returned we had a quick coffee in Hawes Inn before heading home.
