At Smith's

Smith's at Wapping is one of my favourite restaurants. Specialising in fish with a spectacular view to Tower Bridge. We met old friends for a leisurely Saturday lunch. With skate on the menu it was a no brainer. But hold on, there's a seafood platter. And scallops. No, stick with the skate plus chips.

The Central line is closed this weekend so it was a discovery walk back through parts of the east end to Liverpool Street.

And I missed the Grand National. But overhearing someone talking about it on the train I clamped my fingers in my ears so that I could be surprised when watching the replay later. Then, switching on my phone, the pop up flash of the result was there on my screen. And putting on the TV back at home there they were talking it all through. Still, what a fantastic performance by... no, I won't spoil it for you.
