Ma & Pa Wood Duck

It was fabulous to see this Wood Duck couple minding their nest this morning at Huntley Meadows.  It rained all day yesterday, so with the promise of a sunny day and my husband heading off early to NYC to visit a sick friend, I decided to seize the day.  In addition to this handsome couple, there were Mergansers, many Red-winged Blackbirds, Red-headed Woodpeckers, and Osprey.  I have loaded some shots of these other critters on Flickr.
