The Way of Martha and the Way of Mary

On my shelves I have a lovely book with this title. It is dated 1915 and is about Russian Spiritually. Pre-Revolution, of course.

The frontispiece is this Ikon of Martha and Mary. The Way of Martha is seen as being the Western Church. Pomp and ceremony. The Way of Mary, in the shadows, quiet and contemplarive, the Way of the Eastern Church.
