G, having finally returned to the homestead last night after a rather long journey from Lincoln, is already out again, this time to see The Hobbit film. It was a book I remember the class reading when I was at school - probably Year 7? The teacher Mr Seddon was very good at Hobbit and Gollum voices, but it didn't encourage me to read any of the JRR Tolkein 'Rings' trilogy. I've had the books for the best part of 40 years, but cannot ever see me reading more than the cover. :)
