Nora
Mist and drizzle. A journey to Dalkeith for chick crumbs. Returning, I cook a hearty soup using found vegetables, chickpeas, and a preserved Moroccan lemon.
Mid-afternoon, we load up the car and head for Glasgow. Claire’s on-duty In Kinghorn, so it’s just the three of us for dinner (Malaga Tapas) & theatre (Nora, Tramway).
It’s the last night of Nora - a new, feminist reworking of Ibsen’s 1879 play, A Doll’s House. Apparently it was shocking back then - and it’s still hard work. Nora, the central character, is played as a trinity by three actresses, each from a different time period: 1918, 1968, 2018. A challenging show, well executed, but not exactly uplifting.
Then Woodlands, Murano, and Kinghorn - in the fog.
