Choices

Of the 16 of us, most of us chose to go clay pigeon shooting. Some ladies went off to a spa.

It’s been a strange day for me. All of us were in the kitchen for a cooked breakfast and some of us chose to get involved in the cooking and clearing up. Easier in my mind, than trying unsuccessfully to keep up with the jolly in-crowd banter.

In the evening, we were asked to dress up (black tie / cocktail dresses). Our hosts had hired caterers for our evening meal. Elbows did his usual dinner table games that had many laughing until it hurt.

Times like these emphasise the difference in life choices that people make. Marriage, relationships, income, families and work choices made Elbows and I odd-ones-out but as the wife, I was more of an odd-one-out.
