Road Closed (Ridgelands Lane)

I've always had a certain fascination for works of this kind, which I attribute to growing up in Brentford, Middlesex in the early 1960s just as the elevated section of what is now the M4 motorway was being constructed less than half a kilometer from where we then lived.

Hence my short trip this afternoon to see the current 'work in progress' on the the bridge at Chickfield, just south of Newick, that carries Ridgelands Road across Lambourn Gill - which soon joins with other rivulets to form Longford Stream, which itself flows into the River Ouse at Blunt's Green north of Barcombe.
