First race of the year - completely different conditions to last year - it cold have been another river! Given that I was in a different crew and wasn't so confident about our ability to balance, that was a good thing. We did a slightly better job of the turns and coped OK with the bumpy bits. I was happy with our time and we got medals for third place. The team did well, although so did others. Our secret weapon will no doubt have been promoted a division or two on the strength of his ridiculously quick time, but I daresay he will give the top divisions a paddle for their money next race!
