Curlew counterpoint
the gull cacophony, so different from the last visit here, when it was hot and sunny, the only sounds Skylarks and Pipits. Today, there was an icy easterly wind blowing, snow still streaking the hills and hundreds of Black headed gulls screeching and nesting on the islands. A few steps back from the lochan and the Curlew could be heard. Returning across the rough heather watched a pair of Mountain Hare, half white, half brown, and heard Golden Plover.
Had forgotten I was supposed to be at Botanical Illustration until a text reminded me! Rushed to get half a session, then on to Book Group!!!
Quite a busy and interesting day!
