Why is it called "School" for Art?

..one thing I know for sure, this does not feel like School at all! Today I had my first real arty-farty day at St.Martins. It was all about experimenting and letting go of all preconceptions of what a drawing should look like. So we had to draw with our eyes closed, without looking at the paper, with your wrong hand stuff like that.

In the afternoon we had to make our own "drawing-machine", in pairs of three. It was suppose to be something that made a painting or drawing without us doing anything. So we had two bottles with little holes in them filled with paint. We spinned the contruction and the bottles while the paint was splashing out of the tiny holes.. and this was the result.

Weird but fun day! Again; why is this called school..? :D
