Duck and drakes at Stratford Park
I went to see the nesting swans this afternoon, but the drama was elsewhere. This duck, which was also nesting in a special box on the little island in Stratford Park came out to feed. It flew onto the lake when some people started to feed the birds on the other side of the water and the duck was immediately mobbed by the drakes. She seemed to hold her own and after a bit of food and a few chases she ventured back to her wooden box on the island, to sit back on a clutch eggs once again. The pair of swans just looked on nonchalantly.
