Pink!

So much for blipping early!  Almost midnight again!

My lateness is nothing to do with my laptop though.  It's still working a treat :-))  No, it's the fault of the sunshine and the lighter nights.  

Every year at this time there comes a point when the arrival of spring and the extra day light boosts my energy levels and today was the day.  I suspect the fact I am now on top of this chest infection and feeling better helped too.

Bit of a clear out and tidy upstairs followed by a mountain of ironing.  Had a little wander in the side garden to see how it's responding to spring and all seems well, although there's some spots on the honeysuckle leaves so must check that out.  A few little pink flowerheads appearing on the Phlox.  Hopefully by next month they will be a carpet of pink.  They are certainly spreading over the wooden edging as planned.

Unfortunately the lovely wind chime has been blown all over the place (see extra) and only has two chimes left.  Found three bits behind the bay tree (which has sadly died and will have to be removed.)  I have grown accustomed to the lovely sound of the chimes so will have to look for new ones.  The neighbours are probably delighted they've been silenced!  

Billy, our trusty painter and decorator started prepping the front of the house yesterday for painting it and the front wall.  He was back today and thanks to two wonderfully dry days, hopes to start painting tomorrow.  

The Gin Palace will also be getting a freshen up with the outside being painted Fresh Rosemary and the inside Country Cream.  

David also took a mad turn today and cleared and gutted the boot room.  What a difference.  He also removed Lola's bedtime blanket that she's chewed so many holes in, it looks like a Swiss cheese, and gave her a new one.  She eyed it suspiciously for a few minutes before rolling in it and setting about customising it!  She got into trouble and stopped but I suspect more holes will have appeared by morning!
