Dog Sledding

We had a great time with the dogs, so much more than going dog sledding. We learnt all about how the dogs are cared for, got them set up on each sled. The excitement/noise from the dogs as they waited (!) to go. We were with our guide Anders, who has such a love for his dogs. Our lead dog Sherlock is a youngster and he had some ideas about which way he wanted to go! We saw Svalbard reindeer en route, not phased by us at all. When we got back the dogs had to be returned to their individual kennel, Anders knows each one and their personality. Then a post sled snack (for the dogs) frozen mackerel broken up with the mallet! Before we had a hot drink and a cuddle with the 10 week old puppies.
