Come From Away!

The birthday celebrations continued with cake at Maison Bertaux. We then went to see Come From Away, the new musical that focuses on the town of Gander, Newfoundland, population about 10,000. When 9/11 happened, the US Government closed American airspace. Thirty Eight planes with over 6,500 people from 100 countries were diverted to Gander, and ended up staying for five days. It’s an incredible true story. I cried and laughed all the way through and came out feeling warmed and a bit homesick. I can’t recommend it highly enough!
