Gone Native?
I'm still on a mission to blip the flowers that survived the arctic weather of the last couple of weeks. It helps that the sun has been shining valiantly yesterday and today - there's not much rise in temperature, but I'll settle for sunshine.
So today's shot is the snakehead fritillaries which have colonised the grass under the trees below the house. They are native to the UK, but not as far north as this. But they seem to be quite at home. Every year TM counts the number of flowers - there are over 200 this year. Not bad from a couple of plants maybe 10 years ago.
I'm going to be cheeky and tag it for WildWed (hope Cailleach is feeling lenient this week) - on the grounds that our garden is quite a wilderness.
