Eastern Bluebird

I am very pleased to say this bluebird was actually IN MY YARD today. I think I could count on the fingers of one hand the numbers of times I've seen a bluebird here. They're all over the place up on the dirt road where we walk regularly, but virtually never here. Years ago we had a bluebird house and a pair nested in it - I'm not sure (don't remember) if they were successful. A black snake may have been involved. Since then, having never been energetic or dedicated enough to erect a properly baffled and protected house, I've just enjoyed the ones I see all the time up the road! So I was tickled when this fellow showed up and hung around for a good while. Who knows if he thinks he's found a place to nest around here... Or a lady to do it with!
