Memories
Today, my mother-in-law, Grace, passed away. She was 92, a generation ahead of my own mom. She was one of the classiest women I've ever met: smart, well mannered, gentle, always with a kind smile or word for those around her.
She had a long life, a full life, and sometimes a wild life, especially when she worked for Canada's spy agency Camp X and lived in Manhattan, New York. She had a mischievous streak below her cool veneer -- something of which we occasionally got a glimpse through her stories.
I'm glad our kids grew up with her in the house next to ours: it was a precious experience for them.
Rest in peace, Nana: you've made a difference in our lives.
