Ornamental pomegranate

Call me pedantic, but it seems to me that if you are going to have a pomegranate tree it might as well be a real one that gives fruit, rather than this spreading messy non-fruiting, weedy, ornamental.  Do I like it?  Well the flowers are bright at a time of year when everything else is tired. 

But I do think it's a waste of space in our garden at OGH.
