Size matters
Sometimes I'm asked, which figures I use for my blips.
They are model railway figures in the size 1:87 or H0.
(That's why I call them Hanullis, "Ha Null" is German for H0, but that's another theme)
The worker with the bar is size H0 and has a height of approximately 2 cm / 0.8 inch.
Thanks to Pewe I had the opportunity to compare them to figures in size N or 1:160. The adult lady is about 1 cm / 0.4 inch high and the little girl is approximately 7 mm / 0,3 inch. Figures in size N are really very tiny. They are quite difficult to handle. They are less detailed and it is difficult to recognize their expressions. And don't let then drop outside - you will never find them back ;-)
For the names of the sizes in different counties have a look here
A good source for the figures are model railway stores in the internet or lokal railway stores, if you are a lucky one :-)
There are big differences in proportions and details, so take a close look before you order figures.
For example: homeless people from Noch, from Preiser, from model power or from woodland and there are many more.
I prefer those from Preiser. I've They have way too much figures, even exclusive single models
Warning: Those tiny people are very addictive :-))
For those who like to play with the tinies:
I'm hosting a challange for blips with adventures of tiny people, called TiPS (Tiny People Sunday, it started as a weekly challenge)
It runs monthly and you can add as many entries as you like.
The current tag for April is TiPS32.
It is open for all sorts of tiny figures, not only railway figures! Have fun!
