Beauty
The romanesco is surely one of the most beautiful vegetables in the world, isn't it? We all passed it around at the Food Hub HQ yesterday when I went to collect our food box and we all marvelled at it's beauty. It almost feels wrong to eat something so pretty.
It's a funny old season we are in at the moment. Tomorrow will be the funeral of one of our most faithful supporters who died last month after falling at home. Alongside that we've recently heard of three terminal cancer diagnosis' amongst our wider community over the last month or so. It's hard sometimes to reconcile the beauty of nature and the goodness of God with the pain and hurt we see in the world around us. As one of my trustees put it today: God is definitely saying make the most of his wonderful world.
And so, we live in hope. Hope for an end to all suffering, ushered in by the events we are about to celebrate all over the world this Easter time. And while we wait, we will continue to live amongst the beauty of the world and make the most of every day given to us.
