While out exploring last week I'd spotted a little bit of woodland off Grosvenor Road in Headingley, but I wasn't sure if it was public access or someone's big garden. Having dug around a bit online I discovered it was Dagmar Wood, on the site of a former quarry, and that it was described as a community garden and performance space.
I was up that way again today, so popped in to have a look around. It is a very peaceful spot, although surrounded by houses. Circuiting the path I disturbed this Speckled Wood, but it didn't fly too far. My first of the year.
