Don't delete anything

Occasionally when I get into discussions with photographers we talk about file storage and different approaches. Mine is that I keep every single image that is taken which means I have many megabytes of memory used up but it is justified by the request I had yesterday for some photos I took at some stage during 2011 for them to be used in a newspaper article. After a bit of hunting I found the raw images and was able to get them quickly edited and off to the newspaper. If I'd taken the approach of deleting the images I didn't use or value at the time, I wouldn't be getting published in the next few days.

Don't just think about the photos you are taking today, think about what may be needed in the future.
