Fresh from the farm

Okay............ maybe not so fresh, but still nice.

I was whining about how expensive and difficult it is, to find cabbages - and asked Karen if they were still growing them.

I know the vegetable season is pretty much over.



She seemed somewhat surprised, that WE were having cabbage problems.  Indicating that, cabbages that she had sent through to Jhb market, had been dumped.

So much for supply and demand........


Any way............. she gifted me with a pack of cabbages.  Popped them on the roof of the car, as she left for an appointment.


I was delighted. 


Unfortunately WE had already spent a fortune on cabbages for the week.  So just stuck them in the fridge, for later.  Later was today.   I peeled off the slightly mouldy outer leaf and tucked in.  They were FABULOUS.   And HUGE !
