Flying Scotsman
Well, I almost captured a Blipfoto of the Flying Scotsman. I positioned myself in what I thought was just the right spot at Romsey train station so that I could picture the famous locomotive as it passed through the station today, with the station name tag placed to effectively display the location.
Great thinking, I thought, along with the dozens of other train spotters who opted for this same view. Then. . . . Just as the steam and smoke from the locomotive came into view in the distance, another train pulled into the platform where I was standing, effectively blocking the sight of the oncoming Flying Scotsman.
Okay, I managed to catch the side view of the celebrated historic locomotive . . . And its name.
But my careful planning for the photo that I hoped would be train spotters joy, promptly disappeared!
