Happy New Year!

A first glimpse of the Talyllyn Railway 2020 Calendar.   Always a treat but this one features two of my photos,  including the shot in view of last year's Anything Goes Gala which concluded with a cavalcade of all six steam locos.  I'm ....... chuffed :-)

A very gentle day on the TR today.  I split my time between helping in the booking office and the shop.   Jamie was pricing vast numbers of Thomas books and remembering his childhood while I spent time working through a load of second hand books, finding the going rate for them so they can be appropriately priced.   Many have relatively low market value but all will be of interest to someone.  Perhaps the most interesting finds were two books with letters inside.  One to a serving soldier in 1945, the other to the purchaser from a well known railway author thanking him for the cheque in payment of £1 - 3s - 6d in 1967.  It was a second hand book then, fifty years on you can pick one up for around £2.  How times change - but despite that the fascination of steam remains.
