Another young centurion

Day two of Surrey v Essex at the Oval and the morning session belonged to 21 year old Ryan Patel who completed his maiden first class century after a patient and watchful six and a quarter hours at the crease. I'm sure there's a national side somewhere that's looking for a number three batsman capable of getting his head down and grafting for long spells!

I had a number of action shots to choose from but the light was pretty flat today so instead I've gone with one of him seemingly deep in thought as he crossed the rope and took the field at the start of play. The extra shots are of him setting off for the two runs that brought up his ton and of his celebration raising his bat and helmet to the balcony where his parents were among an appreciative home crowd.
