A rainy day as we pack for our trip - we expect to be wet.

these fabulously firey fruits showed up today - completely unexpected.  I posted on facebook to see what they were and a friend obliged.... they are a fungus that infects red-cedars and then infects apple trees.  But they don't harm either tree tho they will make the apples ugly. link
